The Kentucky Laborers’ Training Fund (KLTF) is a nonprofit labor-management trust dedicated to providing comprehensive training for construction craft laborers across Kentucky. Since its establishment in 1988, KLTF has been committed to enhancing the skills of over 3,000 members statewide, ensuring they meet the evolving demands of the construction industry. The organization operates a state-of-the-art training facility in Lawrenceburg, offering programs that cover general construction skills, core labor competencies, and specialized areas such as building construction, heavy highway projects, and environmental remediation.
KLTF’s curriculum includes a wide array of courses designed to equip laborers with the necessary expertise for various construction tasks. Notable courses include OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health, Basic Grade Checking, Pipe Laying, Scaffold Erection, and Confined Space Awareness. These programs combine classroom instruction with hands-on training, ensuring participants gain practical experience. Additionally, KLTF offers an apprenticeship program that allows contractors to train future workers while benefiting from reduced labor costs. This initiative underscores KLTF’s commitment to fostering a skilled, safe, and productive workforce in the construction sector.
